March 15th screening of Salmon Fishing in the Yemen
I've just received an email with a gofobo rsvp code for a free screening Salmon Fishing in the Yemen at Harbor East next week. I saw this film on Valentine's Day courtesy of an earlier round of screenings, and thought it was cute. It's a romantic dramedy about an Arab billionaire's quest to bring sport fishing to his desert homeland and the two young English folk who are tasked with helping him do it. Dr. Alfred Jones (Ewan McGregor) is a fisheries scientist who one day receives an unusual request: A businesswoman named Harriet Chetwode-Talbot (Emily Blunt) wants his help in fulfilling a wealthy sheikh's (Amr Waked) request to bring sport fishing to Yemen. Jones declines at first, but when the British prime minister's spokeswoman latches on to the project as a way to improve Middle East relations, he joins in. Romance blooms as Jones and Harriet work to make the sheikh's dream come true.
I highly recommend it for fans of Ewan McGregor, although Emily Blunt and Amr Waked were quite good in it as well. I haven't read the book, so I can't tell you anything about how it compares.
If you're interested, please comment below and I will message you the RSVP code!
